In The Now

They tell me it's my birthday. Quite a few thoughts have come to my mind today. Some needed to be cast down as per 2 Cor 10:1-6:

Failure, guilt, defeat, sense of waste, "what if I had done things differently?"

But you know what? We can't change the past. There are some things that I would have done differently if I had the possibility. And there are many things that I would have done exactly the same. The bottom line, however, is that I can't change what has been done. In the words of the old cliche, "It is water under the bridge."

Then a saying came across my mind, one I am sure most of you have heard at one time or another. "This is the first day of the rest of my life!" Wow, what a revelation. If you think about it, this day is all that we have, isn't it? We should make the best of each day, my friend.

We need to live "In The Now," in the present moment. Ask yourself today, "What is the most important thing that I could (should) be doing right now?" Then DO IT!! Let's not waste anymore time worrying about the past, live for YHWH today.

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto YHWH. And the peace of YHWH, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Ha Moshiach YHWSHUA. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and YHWH Shalom shall be with you." (Phil 4:6-9)

Deep Pit! (Mmmmmmmm)

This morning we decided to "Deep Pit" a turkey. Now I can hear some of you saying, "Oh boy...here we go... They keep Thanksgiving..." WE SURE DO! Everyday is Thanksgiving for us. We are so grateful for all that YHWH has given us that we simply overflow with thanks to HIM!

"Rejoice evermore...Pray without ceasing...In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of YHWH in the Messiah YHWSHUA concerning you." (1Th 5:16-18)

But the reason that we got the turkey this week was simply economics. The price had gone so low on them that we simply figured it would be a great time to "Deep Pit". Now for those of you not familiar with this term I will explain. You simply dig a hole in the ground, Line it with stones (Not from a stream or they will explode), and build a large fire in the pit. Once it has burned down to coals...you take out the coals, put in your pot with whatever you are cooking (with a good lid of course), put the coals back on it...and cover with "D.I.R.T." (Tam will understand this...but that's a different message).

Now you LEAVE IT ALONE! Some people would have the tendency to go out there, and dig it up in an hour or two to see how it's doing. But that would allow the heat to escape and you would have to finish whatever you were cooking in the stove. You need to leave it in the ground for 6 hours or so, and simply have Faith that the stones and coals will do their job.

It's much like a farmer. He goes out and tills the soil, and then furrows the ground, and plants his seed. Day #1 goes by...Day #2...and then the farmer goes out to see how the work is progressing. Well, low and behold...he doesn't see anything. He scratches his head and goes back and says to his wife, "I don't think my seed must be any good." He goes out to the field and digs up the seed to see if something is happening and destroys the work. Will anything EVER grow like that? No, of course not!

But it is that way many times in our Spiritual Life. Our seed is the words that we speak (Some of you are planting the wrong seed to begin with, but again, that is another message... Plant the Word of YHWH in your situation!) Then we go out and dig up our seed if we don't see something happening in just a few minutes. "This confession thing doesn't work," you start complaining. Well of course not...you dug up your seed! "Hold fast to your confession!"

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for HE is faithful that promised..."

2Ti 1:13 "Hold fast the form of sound words..."

Don't allow circumstances to the contrary dissuade you from your word. Keep your mindset positive and in line with YHWH! The seed WILL bring forth fruit. It might take a little time, but what is time anyway? We have all of eternity to live...why worry about a few days, months, or years? Live in the now. Rejoice over the promises that are coming your way! Give Thanks!!! That's what this day...and EVERY Day is all about anyway...isn't it?

PS - UPDATE 4:30 PM - MMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm is that turkey tasty! The deep pit worked perfectly! Thank you YHWH!

Chicken Soup Anyone?

Well we had quite a day today. It was an experience we won't forget in the near future! We were blessed a few weeks back when our new neighbor told us he had some chickens that needed to be butchered. He asked if we would do the butchering in exchange for 1/2 the chickens. Of COURSE we would love to do it, we told him! ROTFLOL!

Well today was the big day. We got over there...set up the block...and made the fire to boil some water (I thought you only did that when your wife is pregnant, but when you pluck chickens you do it also. Once everything was set up we went into the roost to gather up one after another rooster. You know, I think they knew what was coming. I mean, not one of them came running over saying "me next"! But we ran...chased...and finally caught them.

Out to the block...then hung upside down for the blood to drain...then to the pot of hot water and to the table to pluck. Well our girls looked like they had been tarred and feathered by the time it was done. Tam was up to her elbows in "guts" (literally) and we were having fun! But as Tam has said to a few ... "We DID NOT have chicken tonight"!

As I sat by the block after killing the chickens I thought about all of the blood...and the temple...and YHWSHUA's sacrifice for us. I know "The Blood" isn't a popular subject, but it was necessary. And I am so grateful that HE shed HIS blood to atone for my sins. What about you friend? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? If not, you can be. HE so wants to cleanse you so that you and HE can have fellowship. Open your heart today!

My Apologies

Shalom!!!

I wanted to take a moment to apologize for not posting here as regularly as I would have liked to! With the move, and then the Feast of Tabernacles it got downright busy around here! But things have settled down and we have regrouped somewhat.

There are many things going on here at the present. We are gearing up for a "Winter Survival Camp" that we will be hosting in December. You can find information on the website:

http://www.waytruthlife.com/actsfellowship/

We are also planning to begin building our home in the upcoming few weeks! HalleluYAH! YHWH is so wonderful and so faithful to HIS people. As we work on the home I will be hoping to put up regular updates as well as some pictures of the process! That way you can take part with us. We only wish you were here to hammer and pour concrete!

Finally, I put up pictures of the Feast of Tabernacles 2005 on the website. GO to the homepage, click on "News" and then on "FOT 2005". I hope that you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the Feast!

Shalom V' Ahavah...
